new policy

I picked up the newspaper this morning, and this was the headline:

Lutherans drop gay clergy ban.

It just saddens me. This is a denomination that was born in a reformation, that was founded on the belief that the Bible is the TRUTH, and that turned away from everything that the world at the time was saying. It just saddens me that a denomination so built on Scripture alone is caving in to the pressures of society so easily.

What next?

I had the same thoughts. I am in constant prayer that the Holy Spirit always keeps me clinging to the true Word.

Not to be a picky pete or anything, but the ELCA wasn't exactly born in the reformation. It was started in the late 70s (1970s) and was pretty intent on being liberal from the outset. Not trying to be mr. knows-it-all nerdy sem-pants, but it's less discouraging to know that it's not exactly a lutheran body outside of its potlucks and burnt coffee. Have a wonderful day!
